Frozen Snickers Yogurt Bites
Frozen Snickers Yogurt Bites (gluten free and high in protein)
Ingredients
2/3 cup vanilla or plain Greek yogurt
¼ cup agave
2 Tablespoon of almond or cashew butter
1 cup dark chocolate
Instructions
1. Mix yogurt, agave, butter
2. Place on unbleached parchment paper (dollops)
3. Freeze for 30 – 60 minutes
4. Melt chocolate in 30 second intervals (add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil)
5. Dip your your bites in chocolate and add peanut bites if you like (watch for peanut allergies)
6. Place back in freezer for 15 minutes
Benefits
Yogurt – has live cultures which is great for maintaining healthy levels of gut bacteria and good for digestion.
Agave – Great alternative to sugar (especially if you have diabetes) – lots of antibiotics and anti-inflammatories.
Almond/cashew butter – lowers your bad LDL cholesterol and raises your good HDL. Has lots of protein, omega-3, vit E, magnesium, antioxidants and is great for heart health.
Chocolate – I like Lily’s dark chocolate. It has fewer calories, carbs, and sugar (made with stevia). Contains flavonoids, antioxidants, magnesium, fiber, calcium, and may improve cognitive functioning and focusing.
